When I was in college, I took a couple of health classes, and both said that often when we feel hungry between meals (assuming we’re eating at normal intervals), we’re probably thirsty. Both teachers recommended drinking before eating when we feel hungry. Now as a mom, if I have provided my children with plenty of food at a meal, they eat it all, and still claim hunger, I have then drink a large glass of water. If they are still hungry after that, I’m happy to provide more food, but that rarely happens.
