Project Blog Inspired Me To Do It

by

I have been inspired by my participation in Project Blog (this week’s challege was to revisit something that you previously wrote about), and have decided that although I am competing with Style Fix - my other site - I am also going to follow suit here on Living Without Meat.

Time and again in life I notice a connection between certain interests and characteristics. Previously, I gave examples of common vegetarian links that I’ve witnessed. Today, since so many veggie lovers also like to create crafty work, I’ve compiled some vegetarian-friendly arts and crafts projects, articles, patterns, and more.tofu_knit.jpg

* BitterSweet blog is the super cute, creative work from a vegan who knits, crochets, and more. Find a pattern on the site to knit your own “two peas in a pod” (what a perfect, tiny way to tell someone how close you feel to them!), a knit tofu pin cushion (shown here), a bunch of crocheted grapes, and a crocheted orange slice pot holder.

* Blogspot has an entire ring of Web sites all by Veggie Knitters. You will never believe how many veg*n knitting sites are out there until you see this group!

* Veganica is an “online gallery for vegan & vegetarian artists.” Post your photography, paintings, animation, writing, music … and check out similar work from other artists.

* Vegans can draw, and sometimes they can be funny. Need proof? Check out comic strip DeFlocked by Jeff Corriveau. You can see an archived cartoon at the end of this posting.

* Summer, one of LWM’s top readers (because she always sends me a recipe when I ask for submissions!), has taken on Creative Mom Cafe with her current musings following the theme of 30 (homemade) Gifts in 30 Days.

* The Craftzine blog is apparently written by at least one vegan writer. Evidence includes the recent Vegan Pumpkin Whoopie Pie recipe.

  1. Summer Says:

I should put up a disclaimer to the vegan knitters that I have a love for wool too deep to ignore. I do make poor sheep go bald so that my son can have wool pants over his cloth diapers. And I’ve gotten some hate mail for it. LOL
